The global polymer distributor Meraxis has restructured its Executive Board as of March 1: the area of responsibility of Chief Operating Officer (COO) Emmanuel Tarret is being significantly expanded. Tarret, who has been a member of the Meraxis Executive Board for a year, is taking over the newly merged Standard & Performance Polymers Division and assuming charge for Global Sales. This new structure supports the company’s growth ambition in technical polymers and recycling materials.

The Swiss trading group Meraxis and the Finnish company Fortum Recycling & Waste (Fortum) are deepening their existing cooperation with a strategic partnership. Meraxis will distribute Fortum recyclates throughout Europe. The offer includes PP, HDPE and LDPE recyclates as well as customized re-compounds. Through this cooperation, Meraxis is expanding its product range of recyclates and can thus offer its customers an even larger portfolio of sustainable material alternatives to prime material.

Meraxis Services GmbH and REHAU Industries, along with three other partners, have received funding for their ‘CO2ptiMat’ project from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). The aim of CO2ptiMat is to develop a digital solution that allows plastics processing companies to determine and optimize the actual carbon footprint of their own production. The funding is part of the GreenTech Innovation Competition. At the launch event in October 2023, Dr. Franziska Brantner, Parliamentary State Secretary at the BMWK, recognized the project and presented certificates to the project partners.

The Swiss distributor Meraxis has partnered with the Danish recyclate manufacturer RC Plast: Meraxis will begin distributing selected RC Plast products in Europe. The distribution portfolio includes high-quality unfilled polypropylene (R-PP), such as that made from recycled fibers for technical applications. The aim of this partnership is to make it easier for plastics processors to switch to sustainable recycling material, thanks to both companies’ extensive product and application expertise.

The Swiss polymer distributor Meraxis has successfully completed its acquisition of the French Fournier Polymers group. In the run-up to the closing in Madrid, the responsible authorities had issued all the necessary approvals and clearance following an antitrust review. The corresponding purchase agreement had been signed in September 2022. Fournier is one of the leading distributors in Europe and North Africa of standard and technical polymers as well as additives. The acquisition will enable Meraxis to strengthen its regional presence in Western Europe and North Africa as well as expand its service and product portfolio.

Swiss trading group Meraxis and one of Europe's leading producers of polypropylene compounds Rialti have entered into a strategic partnership: Effective immediately, Meraxis will market Rialti's high-quality compounds and recompounds in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Together, the two companies will also further advance the development and production of customer-specific recompounds.
