Transparent supply chain: Track orders in real time using Track & Trace

Tracking parcels using Track & Trace is already well established in private online retail. Real-time tracking is also becoming increasingly important in the B2B sector, particularly since in recent years global supply chains have become more fragile due to extreme weather events, for example. Our scheduling team has been using this technology for approximately three years already to detect deviations from the delivery schedule at an early stage and initiate appropriate countermeasures. As a Meraxis customer, you can count on your deliveries arriving on the agreed date.

Before the end of the year, our customers can take direct advantage of Track & Trace. They will sent a link for each order, which they can use to view the location of their delivery. The estimated time of arrival (ETA) is also indicated. Knowing this makes it significantly easier to plan unloading and staging times. Real-time data also helps customers to better manage stocks and avoid «out of stock» situations or overstocking, which reduces warehousing costs. Transparency in the supply chain goes even further. All parties involved automatically receive relevant digital information, such as delivery bills, confirmation of receipt and freight notes. This considerably accelerates work processes on all sides.

Daniel Knöpfel, Head of Supply Chain Management at Meraxis, explains: «We introduced real-time tracking to create added value for our customers. Our scheduling team can monitor the status of each order based on milestones – starting with order placement and collection through to proof of delivery at the destination. The solution is a key component in shaping the connected supply chain of the future.»

Rolling out the «Track & Trace»-service for our customers is another major step in our ongoing digitalization strategy. Our mission is to drive digitalization along the entire value chain in the polymer industry. This allows us to create transparent supply chains, streamline the exchange of data and documents as well as optimize procurement and logistics processes – so that our customers can focus even more on their core business.
