Educing CO2 emissions is an increasingly important task for a number of players in the plastics industry. For this reason, a project by the Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse) has made this its mission and is setting its sights on digital solutions. Meraxis is part of the team because of our expertise in digital transformation and us acting as a multiplier in the plastics industry.

Transparency makes our supply chains at Meraxis efficient and safer. The tried-and-tested digital «Track & Trace» solution used by our scheduling team plays a central role here. During the fourth quarter, our customers will now also receive access to real-time data of their shipments. This allows them to track their deliveries at all times.

We are continuously developing our Meraxis customer portal to meet the growing needs of our customers. Regardless of whether they want to digitize their entire procurement process or only parts of it: plastics procurement can be designed more efficiently and sustainably thanks to centralized data, a concise overview, and market information.

Meraxis, a worldwide leading plastics distributor, and the AI deep-tech start-up POLYMERIZE have forged a strategic partnership. POLYMERIZE is a developer and provider of a materials informatics platform, which is specifically tailored to the research and development needs in the polymer industry. POLYMERIZE’s Software-as-a-Service platform allows converters, producers, and compounders to optimize their materials development and launch new – and more sustainable – products more quickly. This partnership aims to expand their range of services in the European market. Meraxis is also a shareholder of the Singapore-based start-up.

Together with our partners REHAU Industries and Kem One, we are actively committed to a strong recycling economy. In a joint research project, Meraxis is supporting the development of a new recycling method that can be used to remove heavy metals such as lead from PVC recycled materials.

Precise material data is crucial for the plastics converting industry – especially for recycled materials. This is because, unlike new materials, the composition of recycled materials naturally varies as the materials come from different sources. The new Recycling Hub from Meraxis records technical data for every batch of material: digitally and transparently.
