"Not just material, but solutions"

Olga, you've been with Meraxis for a few months, but you've already been in the polymer industry for over twenty years. What fascinates you about this industry?

Polymers are indispensable in nearly every industry. They drive innovation and are often the better choice than the raw materials originally used. For example, as a sustainable, economical, and high-performance replacement for metal. At the same time, the market is changing rapidly. Sustainability, digitalization, global supply chains, regulatory requirements and price trends. I have been working in the industry for many years, right now, I see a phase in which we can actively shape many aspects of the business and support our customers.

What are your priorities in this environment in order to provide customers with the best possible support?

As a distribution company, one of our core aspects is to be flexible and reliable in our cooperations with customers and suppliers – now and in the future. We want to be a strong partner. We not only supply the required material but also support companies in finding their way in the dynamic market environment. Meraxis has a global presence and a broad supplier network. Our customers can rely on our ability to deliver, as they can choose from a large selection of standard and performance polymers.

It is also becoming apparent that the production landscape in Europe will change in the coming years. This has an impact on the supply chain. Import capabilities are becoming even more important. Thanks to our global locations and experience in international distribution and financing, we offer customers real added value in this context. This will enable us to further strengthen our presence in the European market as a distributor.

Meraxis recently integrated Fournier Polymers – is this also part of the expansion in Europe?

Yes, thanks to Fournier Polymers we have strengthened our presence in Western Europe and North Africa in particular. This integration also expanded our portfolio in an ideal manner, particularly in the field of engineering polymers (ETP) and additives. These materials are crucial for sectors such as automotive, electrical engineering and electronics, as well as industrial applications where high performance and durability are required. We can supply both medium-sized and larger companies with such material.

What characterizes the relationship between Meraxis and its customers?

Today's polymer processors need more than just materials – they need solutions. Whether logistics, technical advice or machines and purchased parts for polymer processing: we support our customers in making the best decision for their production. As a subgroup of the REHAU Group, we have extensive expertise in polymer processing and are happy to pass on our practical expertise in various industries to our customers. Working with us makes procurement easy. Personal advice therefore remains an essential facet.

Sustainability is a key driver in the polymer industry. What role does it play in sales?

Sustainable solutions have long been a must for most companies. Demand for recyclates is growing, as is interest in biopolymers and materials with bio content. Here we focus on transparency, options to choose from, and specific advice.
We are also a pioneer for digital solutions. In the customer portal, buyers can order recyclates, virgin materials and masterbatches, compare products in terms of their carbon footprint, track their orders in real time or call up their CO₂ data for materials and deliveries. These digital services not only make procurement processes more efficient and secure but also help our customers to achieve their sustainability goals.

Is there anything you are particularly looking forward to this year?

The K trade fair in October! This is a great opportunity to engage in person with international customers and partners. I look forward to presenting our product range, discussing new requirements and working together on solutions for the future.

Thank you very much, Olga.
