Meraxis expands Executive Board with CTO and COO

Muri near Berne/Switzerland, 14 February 2022 – Global polymer distributor Meraxis is adding two positions to its Executive Board: Sarah Maier has been appointed Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) by the Supervisory Board effective January 1, 2023. As of March 1, 2023, Emmanuel Tarret will also join the company as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

As CTO, Sarah Maier will lead the company's holistic transformation, specifically integrating the task areas of processes, human resources, culture and communication. "For Meraxis, change involves much more than adapting to a volatile market environment - we have a clear ambition to actively shape the future of the polymer industry as a driving force," says Sarah Maier. "If we are to offer our customers innovative and sustainable solutions, we must constantly develop our processes and ourselves as an organization. We will succeed in this because we can count on our qualified and committed employees. One of my tasks is to continue the development of our team and support it with new work models, agile working methods and further qualifications. In this way, we are shaping the future of Meraxis together."

Sarah Maier has been with Meraxis since its founding and has participated in the group for more than ten years. With a degree in business administration, she oversaw the merger with MB Barter & Trading and the subsequent post-merger integration, among other management assignments. She then built up the "Business Transformation & Strategic Projects" department at Meraxis, for which she has been responsible ever since. "Sarah is exactly the right person for our new CTO department," said Dr. Stefan Girschik, CEO of Meraxis. "Not only does she have the necessary experience in strategy and organizational development, but she also knows our opportunities and challenges inside out. We are very happy that we were able to fill the position so ideally with her. On top of that, Sarah brings a breath of fresh air to our Executive Board as a representative of the new generation."

Starting in March 2023, Emmanuel Tarret will also join the Meraxis Board as COO and will assume responsibility for Supply Chain Management & Quality Management. In addition, the French chemical engineer will expand and lead Meraxis' new division for performance polymers. "With Emmanuel, we have succeeded in attracting an internationally experienced industry expert boasting many years of international management experience," emphasizes Girschik. "His expertise with specialty compounds and masterbatches is a perfect fit. We will especially benefit from this in the expansion of our engineering thermoplastics business. For our one-stop shop, this is another important milestone." In September 2022, Meraxis had already expanded its product portfolio in the engineering polymers segment by acquiring the French Fournier Plastics Group. Emmanuel Tarret will support the post-merger integration.

He brings over twenty years of industry experience in various management positions, most recently at Cabot, a global leader in specialty chemicals and high-performance materials. Prior to that, he held various management positions for the U.S. oil company ExxonMobil.

In addition to Sarah Maier and Emmanuel Tarret, the Meraxis Executive Board retains its current members Dr. Stefan Girschik (CEO), Philipp Endres (Deputy CEO) and Ulrich Litterscheid (CFO).
