A typical example: an automotive Tier 1 supplier reformulates a PP compound to include 30% PCR content, while maintaining the same performance specifications. In practice, this impacts sourcing, formulation, testing, and production, often across multiple partners.
At Meraxis, that entire process sits within a single relationship.
1 – Sourcing Our purchasing team identifies and secures the right recyclate input – drawing on a well-established supplier network to source PCR streams with the consistency and purity required for reliable compounding.
2 – Formulation Our R&D team in Rehau, Germany develops the compound formulation at lab scale, up to 20 kg/h – iterating on filler systems and stabilisation packages until the material performs to specification.
3 – Testing Every formulation candidate is tested in our ISO/IEC 17025:2018-accredited laboratory – 500+ test procedures, 64 accredited methods, covering mechanical, thermal, and OEM-specific requirements.
4 – Production Once validated, the compound scales directly to our Velen compounding plant in Germany – 50,000 tonnes annual capacity, processing PIR and PCR with recycled content of up to 100% in the polymer component.
Data-driven development With our partner Polymerize, we integrate advanced AI data analytics, helping to accelerate development cycles and improve material predictability.
No loss of information between steps – from initial concept to series production.
If recyclate compounds are on your agenda, we look forward to the conversation.
